Use these rules as a GUIDE to create your OWN Event

Feel free to modify the rules below to suit YOUR OWN Event as you see fit.

General event operational rules.

No reverse penalties

Winch penalty in all classes to reduce cheating

Gate width minimum 13” and maximum 24" for all classes

DSM/Kinetic lines are legal as winches are with same penalties if they apply. Winching penalties are on an obstacle basis. This refers to winch anchor placement, it can be moved as needed to clear the obstacle, once obstacle has been cleared, penalties will be given at the next winch location if they apply.

No progression points awarded, only penalty points when an incident occurs.

No MOA allowed in any scale class.

Tire size limits

C1 up to 4.19”

C2 4.2” up to 4.75”

C3 4.76” up to 5.80”

Scale tires must state the size on the sidewall OR they must resemble a scale tire, this includes a “cut” or modified tread design. Licensed tires ARE NOT A REQUIREMENT

Pin tires are illegal in any class other than Cheater. Some tires are excessively over the size limit of 4.75” regardless of what the sidewall states, for example the Vanquish VXT2, these will be C3 tires along with JConcepts Rupture 1.9. Yes RUPTURE 1.9 are legal in C3 and Cheater.

There will be 3-5 courses, each course will have 10-20 gates with bonuses as necessary. In the event any competitor is in the pits working on their truck and they end up being the last one to begin a course when everyone else is done, their run is over, they will receive the points/full time penalty for each stage not completed plus gate penalties for every gate remaining for any number of stages remaining.

Each course will have a time limit of 7-10 minutes based on the course, in the event of a timeout, the competitor will receive a gate penalty for each gate not cleared in addition to max time (no time left on clock)

Once you are on a course, if you break you must fix on the spot, you are allowed one roll in either direction to access the issue, if you lift the vehicle off the ground to repair you will receive an HOG penalty, by NO MEANS AT ALL WILL THE TIMER BE STOPPED FOR REPAIRS!! You can DNF that course and make the necessary repairs BETWEEN the courses.

If you are repairing your vehicle between any course, and every other competitor finishes, your run IS OVER. No exceptions.

Scoring is points based with time as the tie breaker so time left on clock must be kept separate. Think low points, high time remaining= WIN

Gates must be forward progressed to clear, this can be driving forward or driving in reverse as needed to forward progress a gate. The number of the gate must be on the right side of the vehicle as it passes through. If a winch line hits a gate, that is a gate penalty. Once a gate is cleared, reversing completely through the gate will result in a gate penalty regardless if it was cleared clean. If the driver is driving, and reverses into the gate line without traveling all the way through, no gate penalty will be awarded.

Start/Stop of timer, If a faster driver catches up to a slower driver they have the option to stop their own time and stop their progress and wait until the slow/stuck driver clears the obstacle or times out. During this time the stopped vehicle is NOT TO BE TOUCHED other than to secure a winch line or DSM cord to the vehicle, not an obstacle.

Winching, the winch hook MUST BE IN CONTACT with the ground or a feature of the course or a winch stick! It can be held there by hand on the ground if necessary or it can be attached to a winch stick if one is provided. “Walking the dog” will be a HOG penalty. Walking the dog is basically pulling the vehicle by hand, don’t do that.

Kinetic usage, When using a kinetic pulling device of any kind, it has a tendency to pull the vehicle when being stretched out, to stop this use both hands, use one to hold the vehicle in position and secure the hook/anchor other end with the other hand, then let go of the vehicle and drive.

In C1 C2 Sport and C3 gates are dead once they are touched or cleared. In C2 Pro and Cheater are live at all times.
