you can use any round heavy metal you want, 6mm x 20mm is the size needed and yes 1/4 round works just fine. 

Also due to the center not being small in this design BE CAREFUL STRETCHING THE BEADS over the insert I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR TIRE TEARS. You will have to trim and open up the foams to be used with these inserts, these are meant for high level drivers and competition. 

These ProCode inserts will give you the sidehill ability of any quality printed insert but the feel and rebound of any tuned foam insert. All in one. 

These inserts are intended for 25mm wide wheels, they can be squeezed onto 20mm wide wheels but may take more effort, if you are using a wide 30mm wide wheel, the glue thats included will allow you to set the offset you desire and lock them into position.

Each set of 2 also includes one .18oz tube of E6000 Glue.
